Ep. 66: I Get Paid for Being on LinkedIn
In this episode, Patricia interviews Barb Bruno, in her second installment of her June series, It’s Okay to Make a Great Living with What You Already Know. Barb is a woman who has constructed her career around LinkedIn. Although she had gone through many trials and tribulations before finding her place, she has grown a successful business. She provides advice on becoming a LinkedIn influencer, as well as her tips on maintaining a professional presence on a competitive platform.
Throughout the podcast, she summarizes how she began working, received speaking opportunities, and grew her business. She made it clear that listeners should be constantly learning and adapting to their field. In addition to showing people your authentic self through your actions. She summarizes her ‘Box Theory’ approach to compartmentalize aspects of one’s life. Therefore, one can give 100% at whatever task needs to be done.

When you see a need, fill it.
When someone says you can’t do something, just say “watch me”.
Say yes, then figure out how.
Learn to make money without being there.
Say yes, show up, and be noticed.
You never know who you are meeting, stay open.
Pay attention to your pivotal moment.
You must shut ‘her’ up, or you won’t go anywhere.
Force yourself to go to new comfort zones.
Thank the people who are working to make you look good.
Your actions should be your authentic self.
